    INTRODUCTION

    Aims:Help Ss to know about the book “Tieng Anh 6”.
    Objectives:By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to know about the book “Tieng Anh 6”and how to learn English 6.

    Preparations:
    1/ Teacher: Text book, lesson plan, ...
    2/ Students: Textbooks, notebooks, reference books...
    Ways of working: Teacher – whole class
    Procedure:
    I/ Organization: (2`) - Greeting
    - Checking attendance
    II/ Warm-up: (5`)
    T: Chatting : Ask ss some questions in Vietnamese
    + What is the weather like today ?
    + How do you feel about this new school ?
    + Do you like English?
    Ss: Answer

    III/ New lesson: (35`)
    I. Present the subject “English 6”
    1. Aims of the subject:
    The Ss may have the basic knowledge in system about English.
    The Ss may have technique in using English as a simple comunicative tool with four skills: Listening, speaking, reading and writing.
    The Ss may have generalknowledge about culture of the countries that use english.
    2. Characteristic of the subject: Study centred upon six big themes
    + You and me (bạn và tôi) + Nature (tự nhiên)
    + Education (giáo dục) + Recreation (vui chơi giải trí)
    + Community (cộng đồng) + People and places (con người và địa danh)
    II. Present the book “English 6”
    1. Stucture of the book.
    There are 16 Units.
    Each unit has 3 sections: A,B,C
    After 3 units there is Grammar Practice and 1 test 45’
    At the end of the book, there is a system about grammar and vocabulary.
    2. Distribution program.
    School year: 3 lessons x 35 weeks = 105 lessons
    The first term: 3 lessons x 18 weeks = 54 lessons
    The second term: 3 lessons x 17 weeks = 51 lessons
    III. Present the ways to learn English
    1. Learn in class.
    Keep silence and listen to the teacher’s teaching, active in giving idea when learning.
    Practice communicate by English in class, restrict using Vietnamese.
    Boldly pronunce in correct way and practice talking so much.
    2. Learn at home.
    Review old lesson: learn vocabulary, grammar
    Read the text many times to remember the vocabulary.
    Give examples, using the structure rules learnt.
    Do lots of exercises.
    Prepare for next lesson: Read the next lesson, find the meaning of the new words.
    Communicate with foreign people if there is opportunity.

    UNIT 1 : GREETINGS
    Leson 1: A. Hello (A1-4)
    (Page 10-11)
    Aims: Help Ss to greet and introduce themselves through some skills (lisening, speaking, writing and reading).
    Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
    + Greet each other , say " Hi, Hello", introduce name.
    + Help Ss have skills to study and practice.
    + Make Ss feel self- confident when they introduce about themselves.
    Language content:
    * Vocab : Hello, Hi, I, I am = I′m
    My, name, is ( My name is)
    * Grammar: I am Lan = My name is Lan.
    Preparations:
    1/ Teacher: Text-book, lesson plan, cassette, pictures, disc
    2/ Students: Text-books, notebooks, exercise books ...
    Ways of working: T – WC, individual-work, group-work, pair-work
    Anticipated problems: Some students may have difficulty in pronounce the short form (′s)
    Solution: Pronounce the short form clearly and help the Ss do the same.

    II/ Warm-up: (2`)
    Ask Ss to look at the picture page 10 and give their ideas about greetings .
    + How do you greet each other in Vietnam?
