Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
+ Unit objective: Give their names and identify others.
+ Lesson objective: Practice new sounds /æ/, /h/, /t/.
Previous knowledge: Ask people’s names and introduce themselves.

1.
- Greet the whole class “Good morning children.” (Wave hand and smile).

- How are you?

- I’m fine. Thank you!

Materials: CD
2. Play the song Hello. What’s your name? have Ss sing along. Ask some Ss the question What’s your name? And have them answer.
2. Listen and sing along, answer the teacher.

*Activity 1: Listen and chant.
1. - Pre-teach cat, hat, hot.
- Show a small part of a picture (a cat), have Ss guess, and then ask What is it? Wait for the children’s answers and reply in English cat.

- Go on with the picture of a hat. Stick two pictures on the board and have Ss speak cat, hat.
- Express that feeling so hot (stand in front of a fan) and ask the children (Tại sao cô lại đứng trước quạt nhỉ?) – Reply the children I’m hot. Hot.
- Write cat, hat, hot on the board, drill the words again and have the children repeat.
- Write 4 letters a, o, h, t on the board, speak and have Ss repeat.
Ex: a – hat
o – hot
h – hat
t – cat

- Try to answer the teacher. (Thưa cô con mèo ạ.), repeat the word cat.

- Guess and say hat.


- Vì cô thấy nóng ạ. Repeat after teacher hot.

- Repeat after the teacher.

Materials: textbook, page 15, CD, chalkboard.
2. - Play the chant for the first times and ask the children to listen. Play the CD again and have them repeat.
- Set some actions for each word so that Ss can do some actions when they chant (let them chant and do some actions when they chant).
- Play the CD again with pauses and have students use their actions to chant along.
*Activity 2: Listen and say.
- Point to four letters a, o, h, t and two words hat, hot on the board.
- Play the CD and ask the children to listen and repeat the sounds and the words. Have them repeat two or three times.
- Have the children point to the letters and the words in their books. Then practice the words around the class chorally and individually.
- Listen carefully and repeat.
- Look at the teacher and imitate actions of the teacher.
- Listen and use their actions to chant after the pauses.




- Look at the board, listen and repeat the sounds and the words, point to the book.

*Activity 3: Look and listen. Then connect the letters.
1. Divide the class into 4 groups, each group will read aloud 1 line of the chant. Play the CD again and pause to let them repeat.
- Play game: Slap board (the 4 letters and 2 words)
Makes 2 lines in front of the board, say the rule and make sample. Then have the children play.


- Read aloud the chant in group.

- Play game.




Materials: CD, chalkboard.
 2. - Write hot across the board as separate letters. Play the first part of the CD and have the children listen to the sounds. Ask one child to connect the letters on the board with a line.

- Then play the CD again and have the children connect the letters in their books.
