Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
+ Unit objective: give their names and identify others.
+ Lesson objective: focus on famous things from their own country.
Previous knowledge: know about a family in USA and learn about cowboys.
Materials required for the lesson:
- Textbook, page 15
- Workbook, page 10
- My own picture about Pho, Ao Dai
- Chalk board

Warm up

Steps:

- Greet the whole class “Good afternoon students.” (Wave hand and smile).

- How are you?

- Greet the teacher “Good afternoon teacher.”
- I’m fine. Thank you!

Materials: chalk board.
- Ask each child to draw something the USA is famous for on the board, e.g. a hamburger, a cowboy. Have other children guess what it is.
- The children go to the board to draw, others guess.

Activity 1: Draw, write and say.
1. - Ask the children Nước mình có gì đặc trưng nào? (Gợi ý: đồ ăn, trang phục, danh lam thắng cảnh…).
- Use magazine pictures as examples to help Ss

- Answer the teacher’s question.

Materials: textbook, page 15, CD, chalkboard.
2. - Show teacher’s Pho picture, and make sample My country is famous for Pho (noodle).
- Say aloud and have the children repeat.
3 - Have students draw pictures of typical things from the country. (Give them 5- 7 minutes to draw).
- When they complete, invite a child to stand up keeping his picture and say aloud My country is famous for…Continue with some others.
- Show a picture of Ao dai and say My country is famous for Ao dai. Then have them repeat.
- Praise the children who have nice pictures.

- Divide the class into 2 groups and Ss have choral practice the questions and answers.
