Time: 35 minutes
Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
+ Unit objective: Learn to describe rooms and furniture in the house and ask where things are.
+ Lesson objective: Practice saying where objects are.
Students know new grammar: The ball is in/on/under…
Materials required for the lesson: Textbook, page 99; CD; poster; Chalk, board; A small, soft ball.

 Warm up

5 minutes
Flash card, CD.
- Greet the whole class “Good afternoon students.” (Wave hand and smile).
- How are you?
- Greet the teacher “Good afternoon teacher.”
- I’m fine. Thank you!


-Play Telephone game:
- Stick the Poster of unit 10 on the board. - Make two lines in the class, each line has 5 children.
- Play the game in teams and repeat the words in class.


- The teacher moves to the back of the class, calling two children of the two lines and whispers one word of furniture, has them whisper to their teams as fast as possible then the last child will run to slap on the Poster, who is right and faster will get 1 star.



- Then have the whole class repeat the word.



 - Go on with other furniture.



- Congratulate the winner.

Textbook, printout papers, flash cards, CD.
Activity 1: Listen and read. Then say.
-Pick up a plastic ball and ask the children: What is it? have them answer It’s a ball.


- Look at the ball and answer the teacher’s question.


- Place the ball in, on or under a pencil case, a table or a book. Each time say the words and have Ss repeat.
- Each time choose student to say, for example The ball is in the pencil case.
- Repeat after the teacher.







- Have the whole class do some actions to make them understand clearly about in/on/under.
For example:
+Put your pen on the book.
+Put you eraser in the pencil case.
+Put your pencil case under the book.
- Do as the teacher says.




-Show the picture in Textbook, page 99 and ask:
+ What do you see in the picture? (Các con thấy gì trong tranh?)
+ Where are they? (Họ đang ở đâu?)
-Look at the picture and answer the teacher:
- We can see Eddie and Beakie.

- They are in a room.


+ Where’s the teddy bear?
-The teddy bear is on the bed.


+ Where’s the book?
-The book is under the chair.


+ Where’s the kite?
-The kite is in the closet.


Encourage the Ss to answer:
+The teddy bear is on the bed.
+The book is under the chair.
+The kite is in the closet.



- Play the CD (3 times), have Ss look at their books, listen then repeat in chorus, groups and individual.
- Listen to the CD, then repeat in chorus, groups and individual.


- Play Reading Contest:
- Divide the class into 4 teams.
- Explain that the text has 4 sentences, so we need 4 Ss to stand up and read, each person will read a sentence of the text, try their best to read as fast as possible. Which team read fastest is the winner.



- Play the game to practice reading

 Students’ practice.

Activity 2: Complete the sentences.
- Have Ss look at the picture again. Ask them:
+Where’s the robot?
+Where’s the pencil case?
+Where’s the ball?

- Look at the picture and answer the teacher.





- Call some Ss to answer, then ask the whole class to complete the sentences in their books.
- Complete the sentences.




- Answers: 1 under; 2 in; 3 on.
-Check answers.

Activity 3: Listen and act it out.
- Say “The pen is on the book, ask the Ss to put their pens on their books
