2. Let’s explore the USA.
- Prepare picture of a hamburger and put on the board, have Ss describe What they can see in the picture. Is it Vietnamese food? Have they ever eaten it?
- Tell them the food’s name is Hamburger, and it’s from the USA; have them repeat the word Hamburger.
- Put the chant on the board and have Ss chant together:
5, 4, 3, 2, 1 – Let’s have fun! Let’s explore the USA.
- Praise the class by a big clap hands.

- Describe the picture.


-Read the word Hamburger.

- Chant together.

Steps:

Activity 1: Read about a family in the USA.
1. Pre-teach vocabulary: cowboy, hamburger.
- Ask the class how they know about USA, allow them to use L1.
- Show a picture of a cowboy and have Ss repeat cowboy. Ask Ss if they have ever seen a cowboy (even on TV or book) then tell them that The USA is famous for cowboy.

- Show a picture of a hamburger and ask: Do you know hamburger? Do you like it? Then have Ss repeat hamburger and tell them that The USA is famous for hamburger, too.

- Answer the teacher’s question.
- Look at the picture and say cowboy. Listen to the teacher to know more about cowboy and the USA.

- Look at the picture and repeat after the teacher hamburger.

Materials: textbook, page 14, pictures, chalkboard.
2. - Put the picture of Greg and have Ss describe, then put on the board the sentence Hi, I’m Greg. This is my brother, Al. and have Ss read aloud, guide them to say the name Greg and Al.
- Continue with picture about Al and Helen.

Steps:

 Post listening
- Ask Ss to read the text again in chorus.
- Teacher reads the text again with some mistakes and asks Ss to try to find out them. If Ss find out them, they have to say ‘Bingo’ and stand up to give true information.
Example:
T: Hi, I’m Eddie. Ss: Hi, I’m Greg.
T: This is my dad, Al. Ss: This is my brother, Al

- Read the text again.

- Listen to the teacher and try to find out the mistakes and correct them.

Activity 2: Connect the words to make correct sentences.
- Write the sentence halves on the board in random order. Invite a child to draw a line matching one sentence half to another.
- Then ask the children to connect the words in Activity 2.
